Sporting frustrations

Another night of frustration on the squash court. I am still looking for my first victory since tearing my calf back in August. I felt like some of the sharpness was returning this evening, but still lost 3-1, though missed some great chances to get to 2-2. Perhaps the problem is psychological. I lost the first game heavily and after that it was always going to be tough.

There was just a hint of Spring in the weather yesterday. I walked my (now usual) route from Cononley to Pinhaw Beacon, with fantastic views acroos the snow covered Great Whernside and Buckden Pike. I am hoping for an early Spring and long hot Summer, though this may all prove optimistic.

A new beginning

I thought it was perhaps time that I began sharing a few thoughts on the ways of the world again.

To start on a light hearted note, I was reading today about some particularly poor quiz question answers. This was my favourite:

LATE SHOW (BBC MIDLANDS)
Alex Trelinski: What's the capital of Italy?
Contestant: France.
Trelinski: France is another country. Try again.
Contestant: Oh, um, Benidorm.
Trelinski: Wrong, sorry, let's try another question. In which country is the Parthenon?Contestant: Sorry, I don't know.
Trelinski: Just guess a country then.
Contestant: Paris.

Perhaps I should be upset at the lack of basic knowledge displayed here, but that is just too funny to be upsetting.

There are lots available to read here:
